Terms of use
Last updated 5 November 2026
These terms apply when you use BalancedProof, operated by Ray, an independent developer. By uploading a file you agree to them. Questions: hello@balancedproof.com.
The service
BalancedProof reads bank and card statements you upload, checks the result against the balances printed on the statement, and lets you review and export it. The free allowance is 5 pages per day, counted per browser and per network, reset at midnight UTC. We may change features and limits, and we may limit or suspend use to keep the service available for everyone.
Page packs and payment
Page packs are one-time purchases with no subscription. A pack is valid for 12 months from purchase; pages left after that expire. After payment you receive an access key – anyone who has it can use the pack's pages, so keep it private. Purchases are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record: Creem is the seller of record for your purchase, handles payment, sales tax and VAT, and issues your receipt, and Creem's terms apply to the payment. Refunds follow our refund policy.
Your files
Only upload statements you are entitled to process – your own, or your clients' with their permission. You keep all rights to your files and to what is read from them. We use them only to provide the service and delete them as described in our privacy policy.
Check before you rely on it
We check every statement against its balances and flag anything that doesn't add up, but recognition can still go wrong – for example a misread date when day and month can't be told apart, or a statement that prints no balances to check against. Review the result, especially flagged rows, before importing it or relying on it. BalancedProof is a conversion tool, not accounting, tax or financial advice.
Fair use
Don't try to get around the limits (for example with scripts, many browsers or many networks), upload files designed to disrupt the service, try to access other people's files, or use BalancedProof for anything unlawful. We may block access if you do.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every statement format can be read.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on a result you didn't review. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
